Once upon a time, the Influenza and HIV viruses were feeling disgruntled. Everywhere they looked, humans were talking about the Covid-19 virus like it was the only virus that mattered.
They felt totally forgotten. The Influenza virus was so mad that it started ranting to the HIV virus, “How dare they ignore us like this! We’ve been around for years and years, but the moment Covid-19 arrives, we’re completely forgotten!”
The HIV virus nodded in agreement and said, “It’s like Covid-19 is the new rap star that everyone’s fawning over. We can’t compete with him.”
Just then, there was a loud fanfare. The Influenza and HIV viruses looked up and saw the Covid-19 virus strutting in like a king. It had a big entourage and was followed by a long line of humans bowing to it.
The Influenza and HIV viruses just looked at each other in disbelief. Then, the Influenza virus said, “Well, I guess that’s that. We can’t compete with that.”
The HIV virus sighed and replied, “No, we definitely can’t. We’re not even worth mentioning anymore.”
